Control Number: Unknown
This item is in Mint Condition. This Prince has a beautiful main blade with FULL gold etching. That in itself is rare, never mind that the Model 911 is one of the rarest knives to find.
There is no box or warranty card for this knife but it is a wonderful opportunity to pick up an extremely rare model. The lack of a lock release keeps me from dating this knife. On Prince Models, the Control Number is on the lock release and this one does not have one. I also looked inside the brass liners thinking they might have put it there.
A note about the last photo. The Game Warden and Prince Models had a lock release to close the blade. This is the case most of the time. I have shown 3 examples in the photo where the production of the double-blade models had lock releases on both blades, on only one blade, or no lock release at all. I don’t know the reasoning behind this. It seems the early production knives had both locks. In this case, there is NO blade lock release for either blade. The indented lock is an indication that the blade will not lock when open.
