This item is in Mint Condition. The first Ward Brother Game Warden ever sold on the site. I don’t know much about this Game Warden. It is number 6 in the production. I have no idea how many were made but I can tell you I’ve never handled one before, so it must be very rare. I’m trying to research it but not getting much information about it. I’m hoping one of you can shed some light on it.
In the 1920s, 30s, and 1940s, the Ward Brothers were very famous Decoy Carvers in the Chesapeake Bay area. Here is a link to some information. https://www.crisfieldheritage.org/the-ward-brothers
This knife has a highly polished blade with gold inlay on the obverse and reverse of the blade. Otherwise, it is a typical, model 970 Game Warden. It comes in a Green Yellow Box with Foam, a matching warranty card with a white cardboard outer sleeve.
Seize the opportunity and pick this up for your collection. It is a very, very rare piece.
I will keep trying to find out more about this beautiful knife.
